Every year, Kimberly Lewis the producer for the Ahwatukee Foothills Nutcracker Ballet holds a Queen Mums and Royal Queen Brunch at the lovely Cafe Boa restaurant in Ahwatukee. Formal invitations are mailed to each Queen Mum. This is a special day Mother/Daughter day. Dancers train for years in the hope of one day becoming a Queen in the Nutcracker and their Mothers are there, by their daughters side taking them to numerous dance classes, dance conventions, sewing pointe shoes and encouraging them along the way. Each Queen writes a personal letter to their mother and reads their letter during the brunch to show their appreciation and love for their mother. It is a special day filled with tears of joy. Each Queen Mum receives a Royal Queen Mum shirt from Kimberly as a thank you gift. And each Queen Mum gives their daughter special little gift as a memory of this years Nutcracker.
